I expressed my frustration with my art in this journal yesterday. It's gone in a direction I never wanted it to. It's too static... too ridged... to formal... too too... bleh! Also, I've not been terribly inspired or when I was, what I was thinking of seemed to cliche or cheesy or boring or whatever excuse I could come up with to keep from starting. Total inertia. So last night I decided to do something about it. I muscled on through my creative block and inertia and came up with a couple ideas for paintings. Then this morning, I decided to revisit a concept for a painting I had attempted a couple years ago but ended up painting over (it's now under "Thirsty Wolf" or "Four Trees," I can't remember which) and abandoning. I'm happy to say that I've done a significant amount of work on it all in a matter of less than an hour.

This marks a new direction for my style. Looser, faster and more dynamic. I'd take a photo and uploaded it but I have another canvas waiting for paint to be splashed on it.
